Founded by two captains

Capt Greg Ball and his stepson, Capt Taylor Borel, started Wave Dancer Charters together in 2011. Both hold USCG 100 Ton Master licenses. Greg still runs the flagship, Wave Dancer 2, a 46-foot Bertram sportfisherman; book the big boat and the owner is at the helm.

From there, Wave Dancer Charters has grown into a four-boat fleet with a captain for every one of them. The business is B & B Sportfishing, LLC, doing business as Wave Dancer Charters, and it’s based right here in Galveston, Texas.

Meet the Captains

Every boat in the fleet has its own captain. Here’s who you’ll be fishing with.

Capt Greg Ball

Greg started Wave Dancer Charters in 2011 with his stepson Taylor and holds a USCG 100 Ton Master license. He runs the flagship, Wave Dancer 2, on everything from jetty runs and shark hunts to red snapper, blue water and ashes-at-sea services.

Capt Taylor Borel

Taylor holds a USCG 100 Ton Master license, the same as Greg. He’s Greg’s stepson, and the two of them started Wave Dancer Charters together in 2011. Taylor runs Instagator, the fleet’s 38-foot Blackfin. Instagator covers jetty and nearshore days, shark hunts, red snapper, blue water and the overnight tuna and wahoo runs.

Capt Cory Ewing

Cory runs Wave Warrior, a 26-foot Angler made for quick, close-to-home fishing: harbor trips, the jetties, shark trips and an eight-hour State Water day.

Capt Bill Pandolph

Bill runs Pole Dancer, a 26-foot Stamas, on the same lineup as Wave Warrior: harbor trips, the jetties, shark trips and an eight-hour State Water day.

Four boats, 26 to 46 feet

The two 26-footers, Wave Warrior and Pole Dancer, are quick and nimble for the harbor, the jetties and the sharks. Instagator, a 38-foot Blackfin, and Wave Dancer 2, the 46-foot Bertram, have the size and range for red snapper and blue water.

Where to find us

Wave Dancer Charters runs out of the Galveston Yacht Marina on Galveston Island. Look for our private dock with the palapa and the swing. Full directions are on the Contact page.
