  • Twelve hours of the most exciting fishing on our menu

Somewhere past the green water, the Gulf turns a blue so deep it looks painted. That’s where this trip goes. Twelve hours gives your captain the range to get there and fish it hard.

Depending on season and conditions, blue water out of Galveston can mean yellowfin and blackfin tuna, wahoo, mahi-mahi and a shot at a billfish. It’s trolling at speed, scanning for weed lines and birds, and staying ready for a strike that can come at any moment.

Blue Water runs on Instagator, the 38-foot Blackfin with Capt Taylor Borel, and Wave Dancer 2, the 46-foot Bertram sportfisherman with Capt Greg Ball. Big boats for a big day.

Questions

This trip goes past 9 miles into federal water, and charter boats fishing there must carry federal permits. Instagator and Wave Dancer 2 are our federally permitted sportfishing yachts, and they carry the gear for the run: an EPIRB, a life raft, Starlink Wi-Fi, Doppler radar, XM weather and high-powered sonar that finds the fish faster.

As far as the fish and the weather say. Your captain plans the run around conditions on the day.

It’s a long day on open water, so it suits people who are comfortable on a boat for twelve hours. Not sure? Call us and we’ll help you choose between this and a shorter trip.
