Which boat should I book?
The two 26-footers, Wave Warrior and Pole Dancer, are center consoles, so you can fish 360 degrees around the boat. That makes fishing the jetties easier and more productive than on the larger sportfishing yachts, where you fish out of the back.
The 26-footers are also the only choice for our 8-hour State Water trip. They are not federally permitted, which means they are allowed to catch red snapper and pelagic fish in state waters. Our larger sportfishing yachts are federally permitted and are not allowed to fish for reef fish or pelagic species in state water.
The 8-, 10-, 12- and 36-hour offshore trips run only on the federally permitted yachts, Instagator and Wave Dancer 2. Those trips go past 9 miles into federal water, and charter boats fishing there must carry federal permits.
- Small crew, the jetties, a short trip or the 8-hour State Water day: Wave Warrior or Pole Dancer (26 ft, 3 guests included, extra guests $100 each)
- Bigger group or a long day offshore: Instagator (38 ft) or Wave Dancer 2 (46 ft), up to 6 guests included
- Overnight tuna and wahoo: Instagator
- Ashes at sea: Wave Dancer 2 or Instagator, by arrangement
Safety gear and electronics
Every boat in the fleet carries all Coast Guard-required safety equipment and gear for the trips it runs, along with up-to-date GPS, weather tracking, sonar, a VHF radio and a music radio.
The offshore sportfishing yachts, Instagator and Wave Dancer 2, add an EPIRB, a life raft for trips past 80 miles, Starlink Wi-Fi, up-to-date Doppler radar, XM weather, Sirius/XM radio, current GPS navigation and high-powered sonar that finds the fish faster and gives you more fishing time.
Same trip, your pick
Wave Warrior and Pole Dancer run the same trips at the same prices, so book whichever one has your date open.
