Wrapping Up 2021

Over the last two years the pandemic has caused challenges for us all, and yet our fishing business has thrived during this time. I would assume this is due to the outdoor activity that can be done in the sun with friends and family. Without the worry of being around large groups of people, and for anyone not working from home it gave them something to do instead of sitting in the house. As companies began to open up again they brought team members for a fishing trip of a lifetime and team building event in one. 2020 was our best year with over 550 charters on our 3 boats and 2021 is looking to be almost as good!

A Year to Beat

We had a really good spring this year with great weather, and only one small hurricane to mess up the fun. Lots of big Sheepshead, and huge Blackdrum caught along with nice Redfish and Trout. The inshore fishing proved to be great all year, providing everyone with the opportunity to catch big sharks! Everyone wants one that has never caught one, and they should, this battle is like no other fish in the ocean.

The offshore deep sea fishing this year was second to none with great catches including King Mackerel, Cobia (Ling), Dorado (Mahi-Mahi), Amberjack, Red Snapper, Blackfin Tuna, Sailfish, and many more. Blessed with a 62 day Red Snapper Season this year that lasted from June 1st to August 2nd and then a surprise second Red Snapper Season that lasted from October 15th to November 5th.. With the extra days and Amberjack season overlapping our clients got to experience fishing for both over a whopping 16 day period! This was one of a kind as their overlap usually lasts 1-2 days each year.

New Experiences

Our newest boat, Wave Dancer 2 (a 46′ Bertram Sportfishing Yacht) hit the waves at the start of the season and proved to be a wonderful edition all year long! Coming in much faster than our old 42′ with a smoother ride has us considering a 36 hour trip offer in 2022.

We have had some great times with lots of wonderful families this year and made so many new friends. One of the best parts of the job is getting to meet so many new people each year that become return customers and great friends. We get to watch their kids grow up and then get to meet and teach their grandchildren just like we did for them. This has to be one of the most awesome jobs in the world, but I might be a little biased.

Holiday Wrap Up

Our year isn’t over yet, as Spanish Mackerel, Pompano, Stingrays, and of course those big Bull Redfish are in season all year long and they are now in full spawn lasting until mid December. Followed quickly by the open of Flounder Season on December 15th, the best eating in the gulf!

If the fisherman in your life could deserve a break, like so man of us, take advantage of our Gift Certificates for the holidays and come make some new friends!
