Galveston has so much going on—it’s really incredible!
Outside of fishing, you can spend more time outdoors soaking up the sun at a beautiful Galveston beach. Some of the top beaches in the area include East Beach, Porretto Beach, and Stewart Beach. These beaches have soft sand, clean water, and even fun activities the entire family can enjoy!
Since you’re with your family, you’ll also definitely need to check out both Moody Gardens and Schlitterbahn Galveston.
Moody Gardens is home to an IMAX theater (which offers 4D movies!), a museum, an aquarium pyramid, rope courses, and more. There is also an amazing golf course that golfers of all levels can enjoy.
Right next door to Moody Gardens is a fun waterpark called Schlitterbahn Galveston. It has great slides and pools for visitors of all ages!
The last “must-do” item for your visit is to check out the restaurant at our marina after fishing. They do a wonderful “Catch and Cook.”
If you haven’t heard of “Catch and Cook,” it’s essentially where we clean the fillets for you after you catch your fish and you then take it to the restaurant for them to prepare it for you! You pick 2-3 sides and eat your fresh fish family style, while also enjoying some cold drinks to cool off after a long day of fishing.

All you have to worry about is showing up on time, and bringing your family, Texas Saltwater Fish License (day pass is okay), and all of your essentials for the day (sunscreen, food, camera, seasickness medication, etc.). If you would like a full list of what you should bring, let us know. If you want to bring beer that’s fine. Just make sure it is of the canned variety.
